Many children who visit the new Brandywine Center’s
medical and dental offices are delightedly taking home hundreds
of new and gently used children’s books from the McNeil
Children’s Library. Each time a child visits the center’s
offices, he or she may take home and keep a book.
The demand
is so great that the Brandywine Health Foundation encourages
you to donate such books to help the library re-stock its shelves.
Donations are welcome during office hours at either the Brandywine
Center, 744 E. Lincoln Highway, or the Brandywine Health Foundation
at 50 South First Avenue, both in Coatesville, or check with
your employer as they may be accepting book donations, too.
The volunteers from the Freedom Village Outreach Committee,
under the direction of Alexandra Sharber, continue to work
tirelessly to coordinate the book donations and categorize
the books according to age level. The children are devouring
these books, they are flying off the shelves!
Special thanks to the following businesses and clubs for donating
hundreds of books to the McNeil Children’s Library during
the holiday season:
- Annual holiday book drive sponsored by Barnes & Noble,
Exton
- Brandywine Hospital
- Chester Springs Library
- Citadel Federal Credit Union
- East Bradford Elementary School
- Fox Rothschild LLP
- Lionville Lions Club
- Reeceville Elementary School
- Sara Lee Household & Body
Care – USA
- Tredyffrin Public Library
- Western Chester County Chamber
of Commerce
Please join the Brandywine Health Foundation in giving deserving
children the gift of reading and having a book to call their
own.
