Women’s Wellness Day
On Tuesday, December, 30th Keystone Mercy Health Plan and
ChesPenn Family Health Center hosted Women’s Wellness
Day which consisted of free Mammograms for Keystone Mercy members.
24 women had screening mammograms, a test that is used to find
breast changes in women and to look for breast cancer, usually
in those without symptoms. Early detection of any cancer can
improve treatment options and outcomes.
The American Cancer
Society recommendations for early breast cancer detection are
that women age 40 and older should have a screening mammogram
every year, and should continue to do so as long as they are
in good health. (www.cancer.org)
The screenings were provided
by a mobile Mammography Clinic which set up in the parking
lot of the Brandywine Center, 744 E. Lincoln Hwy, Coatesville,
PA which is home to ChesPenn, Chester County Community Dental,
Child Guidance Resource Center, Human Services, and senior
housing.
Please don’t hesitate to contact either Mike Barnard
with ChesPenn at 610-380-4660 or Jada Wright with Keystone
Mercy at 215-495-4774 if you have any questions.
